Vodafone Idea share announced a robust capital expenditure plan of Rs 50,000-55,000 cr over the next three years, aimed at bolstering its 4G and 5G network capacity and coverage.
In an investor presentation, the company said that it had already spent over Rs 2,000 cr on capital expenditure in the first half of FY25, resulting in a 14% increase in its 4G data capacity.
The 4G population coverage also grew significantly, adding 22 million new users during the period.
The ambitious capex plan has renewed investor confidence in the company’s ability to remain competitive in the telecom space, despite its financial challenges.
The fundraise, Birla said, enabled the company to kick start its capex cycle. Vodafone Idea has already announced the first phase of capex deals worth $3.6 billion with three global partners- Nokia, Ericsson and Samsung.

Himadri Speciality Chemicals to invest ₹4,800 cr to make lithium iron phosphate
Himadri Speciality Chemicals will invest ₹4,800 cr over the next 5–6 years in setting up a plant that will produce 2 lakh tonnes of lithium iron phosphate (also known as LFP or lithium ferrophosphate), a key material for making lithium ion batteries used in electric vehicles. This is the first such plant in India.
In the first phase, it will invest ₹1,125 cr in the first phase for a 40,000 tonne per annum plant in Odisha. It intends to complete the project in 27–36 months.
The project will be executed by the step-down, wholly-owned subsidiary, Himadri Future Material Technology.

A Hinduja Group firm emerged as the highest bidder with an offer of Rs 9,650 cr to take over debt-ridden Reliance Capital in the second round of auction. The bid by IndusInd International Holdings Ltd (IIHL) is higher than Rs 8,640 cr offer made by Torrent Investments in the first round of auction held in December last year.
Additionally, Reliance Capital has a cash balance of approximately Rs 350-400 cr, which will also be distributed among the lenders.
Lenders could recover more than ₹10,000 cr, or about 40% of verified claims, under the proposal from IndusInd International Holdings Ltd (IIHL).
As much as 99.6% of the lenders favoured the plan as the voting ended.
